Columbus has a thriving classical music community. There are many artists and teachers based in town, as well as a great number of out-of-town musicians that pass through on various contracted performances in the area. As a working musician myself, I understand the day-to-day requirements to maintain and grow a musical career.

If there is one thing I can tell you about classical musicians: We never stop practicing and we never stop learning! However, if you are not currently enrolled in a university, it can actually be challenging to find a dedicated space to practice or teach private lessons. The idea for SimplySing blossomed from countless conversations with music teachers and professional musicians about the need for a shared teaching and rehearsal space in Columbus. For instance, if you’d like to teach piano in the city, you either have to wait to get hired by a teaching studio or bring students into your home, and the latter option isn’t available for many. If you’re a vocalist contracted for several weeks by the Symphony, there are no places to rehearse on your own time. It is very disheartening for musicians to feel unable to work on their craft. SimplySing Rehearsal Studios aims to solve this problem.
